With over 7 years of experience working in higher education, Patricio has evolved into a strategic program planner and project manager. Born in Montevideo, Uruguay Patricio moved to the United States at age 6, experiencing the unique–but not uncommon–journey of a first-generation immigrant. He grew up just 40 minutes north of New York City, in the Hudson Valley, where he attended Ossining High School and went on to attend New York University under a full-tuition scholarship.
At NYU, Patricio earned his BS degree in Media, Culture, and Communication and worked for the Department of Global and Environmental Health at New York University School of Global Public Health. During his tenure, he was instrumental in driving and supporting the growth of an academic program to a full-fledged department by streamlining department operations; designing and implementing student programs and fellowships; building strategic partnership with NGOs to funnel student practice opportunities; strengthening internal communications, marketing, and website presence; and advocating for the needs of students, staff and faculty.
Patricio also has a passion for technology and innovation, with particular interests in user research, UX/UI, product design and development, and management. He also enjoys taking on print, graphic design, and other creative projects. His interests led him to pursue an MBA in Management of Operations and Technology, and Entrepreneurship and Innovation at NYU's Leonard N. Stern School of Business. As a strong generalist, well versed in product management frameworks, and a strategic empathetic approach to his work, Patricio is currently seeking roles and opportunities in ed-tech, health-tech, and in SaaS companies that are advancing accessibility to design tools and education for all.
Outside of his professional and academic interests, Patricio enjoys long-weekend trips to the Hudson Valley, nature walks, visiting antique shops and warehouses, learning arts and crafts hobbies (like crochet), and deciphering the alto sax sheet music of the latest pop songs. He's lived in NYC for 10+ years, savoring the city's culinary diversity and frequenting his favorite spots in the West Village.
