SUMMARY
One of the topics I came to study during my Intro to Design course was the Bauhaus Germanic artistic movement, comprising of designers like Alexander Rodchenko, El Lissitzky, Gertrud Arndt, Piet Zwart, and many others. Bauhaus design is often abstract, angular and geometric, with little ornamentation.
For this assignment, we were tasked to research a Bauhaus designer and create a mock-up poster about them. This poster could announce an upcoming film, or documentary about the designer, promote an art exhibit, or other event. We were encouraged to incorporate aspects of the designer's style.
I researched El Lissitzky, and this poster was designed for a (fictional) exhibit featuring Lissitky's work on March 23, 2017. Learn more about the Bauhaus movement and El Lissitzky.
